USERL-NCCC Annual Ribbons for Rescues 2009 benefit horse show: Again Linda and Bill Barker is hosting horse show. WE thank them VERY MUCH. Their address is 1450 Streets Ferry Rd, Vanceboro, NC. We had a great show and lots of fun. We earned $1400.00 for the horses. We had many spectators as a great group of riders. We would like to thank Patty Nagy for being our judge. Hero was given a hero's metal of honor for getting out and letting people know about his and his equine friends plight. His owner was convicted and is not allowed to have horses and is under probation for 5 years.

March 21: we had our Horse Festival at the Craven County Fairgrounds (on HWY 70S) outside of New Bern. If you did not come you missed out on a lot of fun and educations. We helped our horse a lot. Grayson one of the USERL-NCCC horses became an ambassador for the League's horses. Everyone (KIDS and adults) came running up to him and he just lowered his head and said "HI". Parents were taking pictures of their kids with Grayson. He was loving all the attention. The kids all enjoyed their pony rides thanks to the Pamlico County Horseman's Association. John Beachel of RafterJC Breeding and Training Center did a wonderful job of teaching the spectators about training and horsemanship with his Stallion as well as with Hope one of the League's horses. Hope had been worked with last year but was to small to be ridden. This year he was able to work with her and saddle her and sit on her. The pen was to small to try to ride her forward very much but was able to get some forward movement. Suzy Q (one of our Mustangs) was worked with by Tammy Croon. It was impressive as she placed an opened umbrella on top of her as well as a blanket on her face. She just chilled out. Go to the Photo Gallery(Horse Festival 09 Album) for more pictures
